Are you like, a crazy person?

"A Single blink brings no relief,
my eyes too tired; they cannot sleep."

"What does it mean to be a man, when a man is but a word we have only given to ourselves?"

"I was not questioning you powers of observation. I was merely remark upon the paradox of asking a masked man who he is." -V

(I watched V for Vendetta twice yesterday, once for the first time ever, and once for the second! )

(( Though the first 2 quotes there, I made myself, the third is certainly from V. ))

Oh and check that out! I'm in the volunteer support crew for the IronMan Canada race on sunday! I get to make sure the swimmers don't drown from my boat. That...and get up a 5am to get ready~

Here we are!

It's Monday...fancy that, huh? I wasn't made aware of this fact until...a few hours ago. haha.
Today I worked after a wonderful day off, and got my cheque and went to the library.. (and have a 3.04$ fine because I was hording Scott Pilgrim for ages in my room~ :D )
I really don't like working. I'd much rather sir around all day long dreaming up things to make, and stuff to buy that I really don't need but I will end up owning anyways!

Anyways indeed. Here are my pictures of the odd shirt I got my hands on yesterday. I'm still not sure what sort of shape it's supposed to lend to me, but I suppose I could be a pyramid now? Regardless..I love the pattern. err... patterns?

Tada! In the same store yesterday (Winners, ha) I tried on these interesting Michael Kors heels. I actually quite liked them...against all odds. Too bad I'm poor!

Lovely? I think so! The heel sits a bit farther back than I would have expected, and it added some interest to the shoes, at the very least. (I'm just glad it was chunky..I kill myself walking in pointy heels)

Gonig shopping on Saturday! I think my mom is buying~ haha

What is this crazy pattern?
I'm really not sure, but I love it!

Well actually, It's the pattern off a shirt I got today~ It's insane, and I swear I will take a much better picture of the entire shirt later. tomorrow maybe. It's sort of a triangle..?

So lets make some chips!

After reading the fine blog at [ ], I decided that it would be a brilliant idea if I was to try and make my own potato chips! Not that I actually have any experience in this sort of thing, and I really am not a very good cook...but those things beside..I adore Potatoes! <3

So..This was only a test, so I just used one potato.

the potato was then sliced up on one of those things you use to slice carrots. Or maybe you don't? I don't know...
Anyways, I took the cliced peices and layed them out on the cookie trays, addoring them with various spices (and some sugar) along the way.

And popped them into the convection oven on 250.F for 42 minutes~ I mean, it's the answer, right? to everything...?

So after 42 minutes baking away in there (I tried to get a picture, but my camera fogged up on me ), They were removed to cool for about 3 minutes, then placed happily into a bowl, photographed, and eaten with gusto!

My favorite were the double layered ones, with cajon seasoning in the middle (the biggest pile of all, in the bowl there) They were quite wonderful, but I had to drink a lot of milk while eating them as they were quite spicy!

I'll get some more interesting clothing photos soon, I swear! I'm just..more interested in food at the moment! :D
Have a lovely day!

The Great Summer Shoe Project!

As I spend a lot of my time making things, I need lots of ideas coming my way at every possible moment. One day I woke up and thought 'Hey...why can't I make my own shoes?"
The shoe industry is mostly dominated by massive companies who produce man-made products, where you couldn't even find anything natural even if you looked at them on a carbon level or something! Mass produced shoes are not that fabulous, and almsot never fit the way they should.

My first shoe project is from last summer (2008), where I was remaking a pair of beloved converse which had died. I used orange leather, and purple suade(?) picked up from a local supplier. Tada!

After wearing them on and off all year, the leather stretched a bit. This was good, because they were a little tight in places to begin with.

(close up of the hand-stitched double coloured tongue) (( this was my brother's idea))

I think they came off rather well, considering I'd never done anything of the sort before in my life! Not bad at all~

SO! This year during school, I was walking around the walls and low and behold, my poor flip flop breaks. I rushed it to the art room and tried to use epoxy to hold it back together but, alas the rubber would not support the glue. ):
So I decided that most store-bought flip-flops break quickly anyways and it would be better if I made them myself!
I then hurried to the tack-shop where I get my leather (they know me now) and got a pile of hard leather that they use to make horse saddles with and rushed home to make shoes!

:D They looks great! (I think, at least) I made a pattern using my foot, and the broken flips flops I have previously. These shoes have 3 layers in the sole, the top, the bottem, and a smaller one inside for extra support. I used Shoe-glue to attach them together then stitched all around with my beloved leather awl.

(close up of the part between your toes!)

I painted the stitches on the very bottem with 2 lays of Mod-Podge sealer/glue stuff to..keep them sealed. I also painted Mod-Podge all around the edges where the leather is open to the world!

Today's Crafter's best friends!

#1 Strong cloth scissors: You need these. I'm not kidding, they are so very useful! Just remember never to cut paper or plastic with them as to not dull the blades, and you'll be alright. This pair has served me well for a few years now, and even managed to hack through the saddle leather for my flip-flops with not to much hardship.

#2 Leather Awl: It is almost crazy how awesome this thing is. I use it all the time. I even think if you had a survival kit or something for camping, you should throw one of these in. You never know! (just make sure to put the needle back inside when you are's very long, and is actually triangual on the end)

#3 Waxed thread: The best you can get for the Awl. I got this roll at MEC a few weeks ago. It's pretty awesome in general.

My first Inspiration board ever!

Why hello there!

Hello! This blog is going to help everyone at home, and in various other places keep track of me when I step out on my own and head off to university! It shall be eventually filled with interesting pictures, and tales of life, and of the strange things I come across,or create myself, as well as the various clothing styles people around me wear (if I can stealthily take pictures, that is)!

I hope it doesn't get to boring for everyone!
